Fittliner echoes the invitation made by several major companies in a "Le Monde" newspaper article for a green and united economic recovery. (Fittliner apologize as the article is in french)
In the glass sector, Pierre-André de Chalendar, Saint-Gobain's CEO, acknowledges that situations vary greatly from one country to another. On March 23, 2020, he stated in a press release that Saint-Gobain "is rapidly adapting to changes in demand, aiming to continue to operate, which is linked to the health situation and government decisions in each country, while reducing costs (reduction of teams, short-time working or shutdowns), and naturally respecting the health of all". This new way of looking to the future, more aware of the particularities of each country, teams in each location, is linked to the management of the Covid 19 crisis. However, it could be extended to economic, societal and environmental issues: how can we give each project a local impact, first and foremost because of its economic and social implications?
This is a vast project for which Le Monde could be a start-up plan. In any case, this is the scope Fittliner would like it to have. Indeed, a green and solidarity-based recovery seems to us to be a good way to combine the need for economic recovery with the objectives of energy neutrality and it is also within the framework of this combination that Fittliner is developing its proposals to the glass transport market.
